Environmental

So here is what i worked on for the environmental. It looks very simple but if there is too much going on then it wont work well because it is meant to me seen from far away. I am thinking of choosing a different way to go so I will have more room to work with or maybe I can incorporate something else to the sign I have now to make it more interesting. Any thoughts will help.

Posters

My Sketches didn't come out as visible as I have hoped but I will just explain them.

The first has a border of the symbol I used in each of my logos and the logo is at the bottom. The main picture is just a scenic view of each place.

The second set has a scenic view with the symbol I have enlarged at the side of the poster.

The last one has a picture in the middle and the frame of that will be a pattern that reflects Guatemala and the colors they used a lot for their art.

Thumbnails

The Quetzal is a bird that represents Guatemala. It is very important in the country and it is even used on the country's flag. I used the idea of the Quetzal as part of my logo. For each city I used the same font. The font is bold but has culture to it. For the cities I just used things that represented each one. The famous mayan ruins are in tikal. Monterrico has beaches with black sand. Guatemala city is where most people live and has many tall buildings.

So my second set of thumbnails reflect the country mostly with the font that I used. It is playful but also exotic in a way. I used the same font for each one again. For Guatemala I played with the letter L and made it a feather which would once again represent the Quetzal. For Tikal I used a letter from the Mayan alphabet to replace the L. For Monterrico I used a palm tree to represent the letter T but I think that needs a bit of work to make it more simple. The last one i used the i to make a little sun that I will probably make yellow to stand out a bit. I used the sun because Guatemala city is where most of the life is in Guatemala.

For my last set i still wanted to used things that represent each city but I decided to do each one in a bit more stylized may. Monterrico which i kept using palm trees has a turtle in this one because the place is known for letting people help baby turtles go back into the sea. They let tourist do it a lot to help the turtles and it is a great experience. The font I used in all of them looks more handwritten and has a nice feel to it.

So these are my 3 sets for now. I am looking forward to your feedback!

:)

Oh yeah and I am still thinking about my tagline so far I only have "Bring the beauty to light"

Guatemala!!

So I couldn't decide which country I wanted to do. It was between Greece which I think is gorgeous and Guatemala which is where my Dad is from. I was mostly raised by my Mom so I grew up mostly by the Mexican culture and I haven't learned a lot about my other side. As much I though Greece is beautiful, I started researching Guatemala and it is so pretty there also and it has soo much to see. The more I learned the more excited I got about it so that is what I choose. I think it will be a great way to learn more about my culture. It was hard to choose 3 cities because I realized there is so much to see there. I finally choose

Tikal-mayan ruins
Guatemala City-the capital
Monterrico-the beach!

And the 3 words I would use to describe Guatemala is Resplendent, Mystical and Alluring!
